ANGEL CITY CHORALE IS 10! Founded at world famous McCabes Guitar Shop in 1993 by renowned artistic director Sue Fink, ACC is proudly celebrating its 10th anniversary. Having started with just 18 singers, ACC has grown into an extraordinary multi-cultural group of 125 men and women that truly reflects the spirit of Los Angeles, the city it calls home. Acclaimed for its broad repertoire and talented soloists, ACC has become LAs most exciting vocal ensemble to see live. In addition to its own concert series, ACC has appeared at Staples Center and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion as well as the Kodak Theater where it was featured in the 2003 PBS television special The American Tenors.
A MERRY MANCINI CHRISTMAS. In December, ACC will make its debut at Walt Disney Concert Hall in the festive production of A Merry Mancini Christmas. Alongside soloists Michael Bubl, Monica Mancini and Dianne Reeves, ACC will sing holiday favorites in timeless arrangements by Henry Mancini. Debbie Allen and her dancers will also perform accompanied by the 77 member Henry Mancini Institute Alumni Orchestra conducted by Patrick Williams.
TOUR OF HOPE. An important part of ACCs mission is to give back to the community and in the true spirit of the season, ACC will spread holiday cheer to those in need during its 7th annual Tour of Hope on Saturday December 13, 2003. Aboard buses, ACC will make six stops from skid row to juvenile hall on its day long carol-athon to take music to where its needed most. Generous individual and corporate donations help make the Tour possible.
CDs. ACC has recorded two CDsthe highly acclaimed collection of Christmas and Hanukkah songs, Gift of the Angels, and the remarkable Why Walk When You Can Fly. Both are available at CDBaby.com.
