ACC Walks for Westside Food Bank

On Sunday, October 26, 2014, Angel City Chorale (ACC) participated in the Westside Food Bank’s 24th Annual 5K Hunger Walk to increase awareness about hunger in our community and raised $565 to feed our neighbors in need. Every dollar collected provides enough food for four meals.

We encouraged others to join in or sponsor our team at the Santa Monica event. The walk-a-thon attracted hundreds of participants from companies, churches, schools, non-profit agencies, and the community at large. The event featured food, drinks, games, raffle prizes, and more. ACC’s goal was $100.

The Westside Food Bank provides food to social service agencies on the Westside of Los Angeles County. The food often enables low-income people to stay in their homes, deterring the problem of homelessness by saving them from having to make the agonizing choice between paying for rent or food when they can’t afford both.
