ACC’s gifted singers, seasoned and new, gathered on Saturday, October 15th, with their loved ones at their sides for an annual bonding party. Soprano Kathy Clyman opened her picturesque Beverly Hills home to the group for an evening potluck meal sourced from the kitchens and recipe archives of choir members. Underneath a star-filled panorama on the expansive porch, the ACC community sampled eats from a colorful buffet, swapped stories, and met members with whom they had not yet interacted during rehearsals.
The party was in-line with ACC’s story as a choir. “It was a great pleasure for me to open my home, to greet my many friends in ACC, and meet new ones,” Clyman said. “I felt that the party embodied the spirit of ACC. It was inclusive, multi-generational, interactive, musical, and just plain fun! I hope everyone enjoyed the party as much as I did!”
No ACC party would be complete without a chance to hear choir members bring to life some of their favorite songs. While indulging in a dessert or a glass of wine, singers gathered around the piano as Director, Sue Fink, accompanied them on the piano in a lively display of the group’s bright and diverse sound.
This chance to interact with choir members outside of practice, in a casual setting and expand on a shared love of music, is part of what makes new friends quickly feel more like family.
