Angel City Chorale Celebrates our 21st Season with Featuring The West Coast Premiere of |
Angel City Chorale (ACC) will reunite with Composer Christopher Tin at its upcoming spring concerts, Elements, on Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, 2014, at 7:00pm on both evenings. The concerts will feature the West Coast Premiere of Tin’s new song cycle, The Drop that Contained the Sea and will be held at the Wilshire United Methodist Church in Los Angeles. The much-anticipated follow-up to Tin’s Grammy Award-winning album, Calling All Dawns, the new work is based on ancient texts about water. Conducted by ACC Founder and Artistic Director Sue Fink, ACC performed the West Coast premiere of Calling All Dawns at its 20th Anniversary Concerts last year.
Angel City Chorale also recently recorded with Tin, at famed West Los Angeles studio The Village, on The Drop that Contained the Sea. Tin’s new classical/world music fusion work, in multiple languages, features the return of many of the guest artists who performed on Tin’s Calling All Dawns, including the Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir. The new album is scheduled for an April or May 2014 release.
Prior to the spring concerts, ACC will also be among the 200 voices onstage at the World Premiere of The Drop that Contained the Sea at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
