Sing together. Unite the world.

Joining singers across the globe, many Angel City Chorale members eagerly participated in this year’s World Singing Day on October 17. The 2020 version of World Singing Day was atypical as sing-alongs in all 24+ time zones were held virtually, at a distance, or even outside in the snow. This global event, founded in 2012 by Colorado musician Scott Johnson, has no religious or political affiliation and like ACC, “encourages people to put aside their differences and celebrate what we share as human beings.” It is held annually on the third Saturday in October.

ACC is proud to be featured in the official World Singing Day video recapping this year’s event. Using footage from our 2018 Spring Concert, we can be seen and heard from 1:12 through to the end singing the 2020 WSD Song of the Year, “What a Wonderful World” by Bob Thiele and George David Weiss.

Save the date for WSD Oct 16, 2021. Per the WSD website (www.worldsingingday.org), “singing together has been proven to be one of the quickest ways to bond friends and strangers alike and WSD provides an opportunity for people to expand that bond and connection in a safe and joyful community setting.”

We hope you join or host a group or just go solo and sing sing sing.
