On June 21 and 22, 2019, Angel City Chorale presented a lively concert of music made popular by themselves and others on the small screen. The centerpiece of the two sold-out evenings was encore performances of the four songs that took ACC all the way to the Semi Finals on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
ACC also brought down the house with a stirring musical tribute to the finale of Game of Thrones, as well as a memorable medley of classic TV theme songs. Rounding out the concert, and continuing ACC’s tradition of a diverse repertoire, were a folk song from Iceland, two video game theme songs, a glorious contemporary piece by rising young composer Jake Runestad, and a rousing finale of the gospel classic So Good.
We were also joined by our very special guests the Angel City Youth Chorale, a group of talented young singers hand-picked from the Los Angeles Boys & Girls Clubs.
The concert was held at the beautiful and historic Barnum Hall in Santa Monica, an exciting new venue for us, and one we hope to be returning to in the future.
